We were heading to Arlington Heights for the Frontier Days Fest to see “our” band, The Bodeans on Saturday night. I asked a client that lives in Arlington Heights for her go to place in town and her first response was the Tuscan Market. http://tuscanmarketandwineshop.com/
We decided to stop there before the concert instead of settling on fair food and what a great decision that was.
We thought we might have a problem getting a table due to the fest crowds but we were seated immediately as there were only a few others in the small table area.
We were amazed at the beer list. It goes pretty deep and they carry beers from many local breweries which our server told us they strive to do to support the local businesses. We love to hear that and were very impressed. It took Mark quite a few minutes to finally pick his beer of choice but as for me I wanted to try a red wine and asked our server for his recommendation which he gladly provided. The Big Smooth Cabernet Sauvignon from Lodi, CA did not disappoint. It was “big and smooth” and was delicious.
Now on to the food menu. The pizzas are 9” so we knew we would want to start with an appetizer. We chose the Canga Salsa which included goat cheese, sundried tomato pesto, basil pesto, marcona almonds and Kalamata olives. This was served with toasted slipper bread. The combination of these ingredients was outstanding and you could tell that they were fresh. The serving size was just enough for two people to share. This really got our taste buds dancing and ready for our next course.
The pizza we chose to share was the Northgate. Sundried tomato pesto, mozzarella goat cheese with fresh spinach and tomato pesto drizzle. Can you see the trend here? Love, love, love goat cheese. The crust on this pizza was crispy and thin and delicious. The goat cheese was plentiful and wonderful. This was by far one of my favorite artisan pizza’s to date.
The staff was very friendly and really appreciated our feedback and compliments. It is always great to be able to spend a few minutes chatting with new people who are receptive to taking the time to tell us a little about the business.
We will definitely be heading back to The Tuscan Market in the near future. The problem we will have is wanting to try something different on the menu because we enjoyed these choices so much.
Please take the time or make the time to head over to Arlington Heights to The Tuscan Market to enjoy all they have to offer. Let me know your choices and what your favorite was.
Cheers!
