We took our first long road trip to upstate New York, the Fingers Lakes region at the end of May 2018. We had one full day of driving there and one full day of driving back. The three days we were actually in wine country were jam-packed with hiking, food, wine and beer tastings. I had no idea there was a “wine country” in New York or that there were so many waterfalls until we started researching the area for this trip.
We stayed at our first airbnb and had a great experience. It was operated by the owners of the Stonecat Cafe right next door where the food was amazing and the staff was super.
One of the best experiences of this trip was the meal at FLX Table in Geneva, NY. They offer a fixed menu with wine or beer pairings to compliment each course. Only 12 people per seating and everyone is at the same table, hence the name. You should definitely check them out, just make sure you make a reservation in advance! You won’t be disappointed. https://flxtable.com/
A restaurant related to FLX Table is the FLX Wienery. We checked their menu out online before we left Chicago and knew that we needed to stop here for a quick bite. https://flxwienery.com
Two of my favorite wineries were The Miles Wine Cellars. https://mileswinecellars.com/ You can read my review here:
Lakewood Winery had so many wines that we enjoyed we came home with several bottles! https://lakewoodvineyards.com
I could go on and on but I will let you see for yourself.
Have a look below. Cheers!
