I was born January 16, 1964 so that will make me 55 today!

These days my baths always include Epsom Salt!

To celebrate this milestone I have decided to take a journey that will be both physical and mental for most of this upcoming year.  I am not sure which will be harder.  Right now my brain is telling me the physical will be harder,  but mentally will I be able to push myself through the hardest physical challenges I have ever faced?  Will I be able to pull myself out of the darkness that comes with some of these endeavors?  I know it is waiting for me.  I have heard stories of the darkness.  Will my mind or my body give out first?  Am I strong willed enough to fight the desire to give up when it comes knocking?  Will I be strong enough to disregard the naysayers and those that call me crazy or say I am not ready?  Will I be smart enough to know if I should throw in the towel?

What will I learn about myself?

To some this journey may seem small in comparison to their own.  To others this journey may inspire.  Either way I would like to invite you to follow along as I would love some company.

Oh… yes, this is a running journey.   My journey to push myself further than I have ever imagined or ever thought I wanted to.

My goal is just that –  MY GOAL.  Nobody can deny me that or take that away from me.  What can my 55 year old self accomplish?

Will this be bad or badass?  Follow along to find out.  Updates on training, gear, nutrition, attitude and races will be posted.  I will share all the good, the bad and the ugly (I’m pretty sure there will be a lot of ugly!)

So whether you want to offer words of encouragement or just need a good laugh stay tuned and check back often.

You can find me on Facebook and on Instagram.  Please like, share and follow so you can join me on my journey!
