It is currently 4:22am and I have been awake since 2:30am.  My dog Cali looked up at me from her deep slumber annoyed that I woke her.  Even she knew this wasn’t right!

Why then do you ask, did I pull myself out of my comfy bed to sit in front of my computer screen at this crazy hour?  I have been working on a project, a new business and it is just about ready to launch.  All I have to do now is hit one button to make it live.  My stomach is in knots, my heart is racing and my fingers are twitching over the keys on my computer.  My head is spinning trying to think of the things I might have forgotten only to figure it out after I launch.  Self- doubt, an epic fail!

Wait.  Stop this nonsense.  I have put in the work and done the research.  I have cried tears of frustration and have had my heart swell with joy when some little thing worked right the first time I tried it!  So what if I forgot something?  So what if I need to tweak some things after I launch?  So what?  Sew buttons on your underwear! (my mom would say that to us all the time as kids when we would say “so!”)

I AM READY!

I am ready for the rollercoaster ride of being a small business owner.  It has been a slow ride so far.  Much drama probably created in my own head.  I am not a very patient person which some consider a fault.  I however like to consider it a driving force to reach my goals!  How’s that for a positive spin?

I have taken advantage of the time presented to me by the Covid-19 shutdown to dig in and really work on this business.  The ride would have been much slower if I was working each day and for this, I am very grateful.

I am ready for my next ADVENTURE!

I am ready to introduce to you, The Grateful Birch Boutique.

The Grateful Birch Boutique is an online only, women’s clothing and accessory boutique.  Catering to women in any season of life but particularly those enjoying the same season as me.

The name was born after hours and hours and countless tries to come up with a name that was not already taken.  A unique name that had meaning to me.  I accidentally stumbled across a birth month flower site and it bloomed from there.  Sorry I could not help myself on that one.

I was born in January which was named after the Roman God Janus.  Janus has two faces.  One looks towards his past and one towards his future.  The flower of January is the Carnation.  A pink Carnation represents gratefulness.  The tree of January is the Birch tree.  So, there you have it – The Grateful Birch Boutique!

Take a closer look at the logo and you will see two women’s profiles looking at the past and future with a pink Carnation in their hair.  I am thrilled with this design!

Click the link below to take you to the boutique for a look or to shop if you are so inclined.  Let me know what you think of the products.  This will be an ever-evolving process as I find new vendors that I love, so come back often.

You can also follow me on Facebook at gratefulbirchboutique or on Instagram at @gratefulbirchboutique

Take the risk, follow your dreams and live adventurously!
